About me
I understand that ear, nose, and throat conditions can significantly impact your daily life. With 25 years of experience caring for patients of all ages, I will take time to listen to your concerns and work alongside you to find the most suitable treatment path for your specific situation.
When you visit my private practice, you will find a supportive environment where your concerns are heard and respected. I believe that understanding your experience is crucial to providing effective care and will take the time to thoroughly discuss your symptoms, how they affect your daily life, and your treatment goals.
My background includes training at Nottingham University Medical School, followed by specialised ENT training in London and Oxford. I have also gained valuable experience undertaking training fellowships at The University of Michigan and Kresge Hearing Research Institute, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, and The Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and Royal Children's Hospital, Queensland, Australia. This broad experience helps me offer comprehensive care tailored to each patient's needs. One of my main interests is looking after children with ENT problems and I co-developed the paediatric airway service at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust.
I am currently practicing at both Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust and University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust.
I provide expert treatment for a wide range of ENT conditions:
Ear Care: Whether you're experiencing hearing difficulties, persistent ear infections, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), or balance issues, I offer thorough evaluation and treatment options. I also specialise in treating more complex conditions like perforated eardrums and cholesteatoma.
Nasal Health: From chronic nasal blockages to recurring sinusitis, nosebleeds, and adenoidal problems, I provide effective solutions to help you breathe more freely and comfortably.
Throat and Voice Care: I treat a full spectrum of throat conditions, including tonsillitis, snoring, breathing difficulties, neck lumps and infections, voice problems, and swallowing difficulties. My approach focuses on finding the right solution for each individual patient.
Children's ENT: I am a fellowship-trained Children's ENT specialist who co-founded the Wessex Children's airway service. I champion quality breathing and sleep for children's development, and emphasise good hearing for learning and communication success. As a mother of three, I understand parental concerns firsthand.
As an active contributor to the ENT medical community, I co-authored the Oxford Handbook of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery and continue to share my expertise through various publications.
I maintain leadership roles in organisations including:
British Association of Paediatric Otolaryngology
British Laryngology Association
Associate Medical Director of Clinical Strategy at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust
Clinical Director of Head and Neck Surgery at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust
Paediatric Airway Co-Lead, University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust
I believe in continual improvement and stay current with the latest medical innovations. I regularly review patient feedback and incorporate new developments in ENT care from both national and international sources to ensure my patients receive the most effective, up-to-date treatments available.
Every patient's situation is unique, and I take pride in creating individualised treatment plans that consider your lifestyle, preferences, and needs. I believe in building a partnership with my patients, ensuring you feel supported and informed throughout your care journey.
Whether you're dealing with a new ENT concern or seeking a second opinion, I am here to help. My practice welcomes both insured and self-paying patients.
