About me
Mr Ian King is a fully-qualified UK-trained Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon. He has been awarded the intercollegiate Fellowship in Plastic Surgery to the Royal College of Surgeons, is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery, and is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS).
Ian is extensively trained. He completed five higher surgical fellowships in aesthetic surgery (awarded the coveted BAAPS/BAPRAS Aesthetic Fellowship at the Cadogan Clinic, London); microsurgery (Queen Victoria Hospital (QVH), East Grinstead and The Royal Marsden, London); extremity reconstruction (Imperial Hospitals, London); and skin cancer surgery and reconstruction (Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London). These posts gave him excellent experience in trauma and cancer management and reconstruction, aesthetic surgery and in developing advanced microsurgical skills.
Ian is a full-time Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the QVH where he specialises in skin cancer reconstruction and holds a broad general plastic surgical practice. Additionally, he is an Honorary Consultant at University Hospitals Sussex where he provides specialist reconstructive services focusing on lower limb trauma, cardiothoracic reconstruction and complex wound management. As an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer for Brighton and Sussex Medical School, he runs the plastic surgery teaming programme for the University and is active in clinical research and innovation to further surgical excellence and drive patient outcomes for future generations.
Ian is well-known for his approachability, gentle manner and for putting patient care and wellbeing at the centre of his treatment strategies. He will use his experience and surgical skills to get the very best result for each and every patient.
