About me

Gorav trained in London and specialist fellowships were undertaken at the internationally renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, and St Georges Hospital, London. He specialises in all forms of hip and knee surgery; including soft tissue and joint preserving surgery, joint replacement and re-do joint replacement surgery. In addition, he is the regional lead for pelvis and hip reconstruction receiving referrals from the South of England.
Gorav is actively involved in research having completed his Doctorate of Medicine research degree at Imperial College London. He has numerous articles in orthopaedic journals and is actively involved in the teaching of undergraduates and surgical trainees. He supervises medical students in their degree projects, and is the trauma research lead in his NHS hospital, conducting a number of clinic trials. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Southampton.
Gorav has pioneered the use of stem cells to treat joint surface injuries in the knee and hip - ABICUS procedure.

Current research interests include being the project lead for the ABICUS trial. This trial utilises a new procedure to grow cartilage and cure knee joint pain using stem cells.
