Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery
Having been trained as an endocrine surgeon at Hammersmith Hospital in London and the International Endocrine Fellow at CHRU in Lille, France, I have a special focus on thyroid and parathyroid conditions, having performed over 1,000 thyroid and parathyroid excisions. I aim to improve surgical outcomes by using continuous nerve monitoring and intra-operative PTH testing.
Hernia Surgery
I am the lead surgeon at Hernia Clinic Hampshire and I have performed more than 2,000 hernia repairs. I specialise in local anaesthesia for open hernia repairs. This approach is easier on the body, can make recovery quicker and can be an option for patients of different ages and health conditions that might make them unable to have a general anaesthetic. I am also proficient in laparoscopic hernia surgery.
I aim to minimise the risk of recurrence and improve long-term comfort by providing valuable guidance on recovery, hernia supports and our bespoke hernia surgery exercise programme.
Hernia Surgery Recovery Exercise Programme:
We have worked with patients to design this bespoke programme for patients in order to help you achieve better results and a more comfortable scar.

Gallbladder Surgery
Having performed over 750 urgent gallbladder surgeries, I have a lot of experience in gallbladder and gallstone removal, using a keyhole/laparoscopic approach and avoiding complications such as bile duct injuries. I also established the trauma and acute surgery unit at UHS, which most commonly handled gallbladder cases.
Lipoma Surgery
With lipoma surgery is often limited on the NHS, I am happy to help patients in need of a lipoma removal.
Commitment to Improving Care
Throughout my career, I have cared deeply about enhancing patient care and improving patient outcomes. I set up a clinical results program at UHS and served as its Director from 2018 to 2022. I also founded the Wessex Endocrine Society, which offers patient-centred training and education in surgical endocrinology across Wessex
As the Director of the National Endocrine Audit Database at the British Association of Endocrine Surgeons, I work to further improvements in the field. I have also earned the Norman Tanner Medal for my work in parathyroid disease and is one of the first surgeons in the UK to pass the FEBS (Endocrine) exam.
I actively gather patient feedback in order to improve my services and have been awarded the iWantGreatCare Certificate of Excellence for outstanding patient care in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
