About me

I am a Consultant Surgeon with a large private practice in thyroid, parathyroid, gallstone removal, hernia and general surgery.

I am trained in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and have extensive experience in the management of thyroid and parathyroid endocrine disease, acute surgical disease and gallbladder/gallstone disease.
In thyroid & parathyroid surgery the advantages of cIONM and IOPTH measurement are essential to improving outcomes and patient experience. At Spire Southampton we have invested in this technology.

My areas of expertise in groin hernia surgery is in open local anaesthetic with sedation. This operation is available to those wanting quick recovery times, older patients and those with complicated health conditions. Most patients are capable of walking out of the hospital 1-hour post-surgery without needing significant pain relief.

I am Director in Outcomes and Regional Lead in Quality Improvement in emergency surgery.

I set up the Wessex Endocrine Society with the aim of improving patient experience in endocrine surgery.
