About me

Dr Arj Imbuldeniya is a Consultant Knee and Hip Surgeon with over 25 years'
experience, and the founder of Ortholongevity a biology-first holistic approach to
joint health that combines orthopaedic expertise with longevity medicine.

His philosophy is straightforward: most joint pain does not require surgery.
In fact, 90% of his patients avoid an operation altogether, through accurate
diagnosis, regenerative treatments, and personalised strength and lifestyle
programmes that address the root cause of pain not just the symptoms.

He consults privately at Lanserhof at The Arts Club in Mayfair, and holds a
substantive NHS Consultant post at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital bringing
NHS-standard rigour to private practice.

WHAT PATIENTS COME TO HIM FOR

Persistent knee pain, swelling, stiffness, clicking, locking or instability
Meniscal tears and cartilage injury
Early to moderate knee and hip arthritis
ACL injuries including complex revision cases
Hip pain, groin stiffness, hip arthritis and bursitis

HIS PRIORITY

Clarity. An accurate diagnosis, a simple explanation, and a stepwise plan
you can understand and commit to.

NON-SURGICAL AND INJECTION TREATMENTS

High resolution ultrasound-guided injections
PRP normal and high dose (platelet-rich plasma) programmes
Hyaluronic acid injections
Arthrosamid hydrogel for suitable arthritis cases

These are used as part of a structured pathway alongside strength and
conditioning, movement retraining, and lifestyle factors that influence pain,
recovery and long-term joint health.

WHEN SURGERY IS THE RIGHT ANSWER

Advanced meniscal repair and complex arthroscopic knee surgery
Knee cartilage repair and transplant procedures
ACL repair and reconstruction including higher-risk revision surgery
Patella stabilising procedures
Robotic-assisted partial and total knee replacement
Muscle-sparing anterior Rottinger hip replacement
Minimally invasive posterior hip replacement

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Dr Imbuldeniya read medicine at St Bartholomew's Medical School, London, and
completed postgraduate training at major London teaching hospitals including
The Royal London, Great Ormond Street, King's College, Imperial College NHS
Trust and Chelsea & Westminster. He undertook global specialist fellowship
training in Sydney and Barcelona, with additional periods in Munich working
with leaders in knee and hip surgery.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and holds a
Masters in Global Health Policy from Imperial College London.

"I make sure you are treated as an individual. Your situation, needs and
personal circumstances are unique. If I can keep you away from surgery,
I will and the advice I give is what I would give myself and those
closest to me."

Outside the clinic, Dr Imbuldeniya practises what he preaches running,
strength training and playing football, while trying to keep up with four
young children, two cats and a dog. A born and bred West Londoner, he is a lifelong Brentford
FC season ticket holder.
