About me
Mr Dominic Nielsen (FRCS Tr. and Orth.) graduated from St Georges Hospital London, and undertook his Orthopaedic training in South East England. To complement his general orthopaedic training, he has 18 months specialist training in foot and ankle surgery and also spent 2 years in a centre for complex trauma and limb reconstruction.
He is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at St George’s Hospital, London with special interests in foot and ankle surgery and complex trauma reconstruction. During his 11 years there he has built a well-established service both for the local population and a tertiary referral service for complex problems.
He is a firm believer in the importance of educating the future generation of surgeons and, having worked in roles at The Royal College of Surgeons and been Director of Orthopaedic Training in South London for the last 6 years, is now Deputy Head of the School of Surgery at Health Education England.
He has written papers on a range of trauma and foot and ankle subjects including being a lead investigator involved in award winning international studies into the treatment of arthritis of the big toe joint. He has presented and published his work both nationally and internationally.
