About me

I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Royal Free Hospital and Department Chair of Gastroenterology for Cleveland Clinic London

I undertook my initial medical studies at Cambridge University, later qualifying with distinction from the University of London. Between 2001 and 2005 I undertook my initial research period at St Mark's Hospital, concentrating on both basic and clinical science, leading to the award of a PhD in 2006 from Imperial College London.

My clinical practice encompasses all aspects of gastroenterology with specific interests in endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, functional gut disorders including IBS

I was Senior Secretary of the British Society of Gastroenterology 2009-2013 and am currently Chair of the Education Committee for United European Gastroenterology. I am Past President of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine

My main academic focus is in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and I am Associate Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic
