About me
Dr Fergus Robertson is an NHS consultant working between the National Hospital for Neurosurgery, Queen Square and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in central London, UK.
He works within several expert multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for a broad range of brain and spinal conditions in adults and children, involved both in diagnosis and treatment.
Working across a number of central London NHS and private healthcare facilities enables him to offer the same high quality care to both NHS and non-NHS patients.
He studied undergraduate medicine at Cambridge University before completing clinical medical training at Bart's and the London Hospital Medical School. After a varied medical residency programme he trained in general radiology at The Royal Free Hospital in North London before specialising as a neuroradiologist, a specialist in imaging and image guided treatments of the nervous system.
He splits his time between planning and interpreting imaging studies of the brain and spine and using state of the art image guided techniques to perform minimally invasive surgical procedure to treat broad range of brain and spinal conditions such as aneuryms, arteriovenous malformations, tumours and stroke.
Dr Robertson's specialty is highly technically challenging and is rapidly evolving. As one of a very small number of specialist paediatric interventional neuroradiologists, he is able to apply these techniques in the treatment of children and babies.
He is passionate about minimising clinical risk and maximising patient safety through an active clinical governance programme. He trains a number of young doctors in neuroradiology and also runs national courses to train nursing and radiography staff.
