About me

Dr Sara Khaksar is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist. She was a consultant at the Royal Surrey County Hospital specialising in Prostate Cancer, including Prostate Brachytherapy, and Bladder Cancer between 2006 and 2021. She now works privately at the Nuffield Hospital in Guildford, Genesiscare at the Cromwell Hospital, London and London Bridge Hospital.

She specialises in all aspects of localised and metastatic prostate cancer:
• Radiotherapy for localised prostate cancer including
stereotactic radiotherapy on the MRIdianand prostate
brachytherapy.
• Salvage radiotherapy after Prostatectomy.
• Systemic therapy for metastatic prostate cancer
including novel hormones, chemotherapy, targeted
therapy and Lutetium PSMA treatment.

Background:
Her Clinical Oncology training was in London, at Charing Cross Hospital, The Hammersmith Hospital, the Royal Marsden Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital. She spent a period as Clinical Fellow at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto and also completed a Prostate Brachytherapy Fellowship at the Royal Surrey. Her Prostate Brachytherapy fellowship included the development of the two-stage procedure into the current one-stage real-time implant.
During her time at the Royal Surrey she was active in research as principal investigator for a number of clinical trials and was Prostate Brachytherapy Clinical Lead and Radiotherapy Development Lead for the Cancer Centre. She was also involved in medical education and was College Tutor for the Clinical Oncology Trainees.
