About me
I qualified in 1994 from St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London having spent a year at University College Hospital during my training undertaking an intercalated degree in the History of Medicine.
All of my post graduate training was undertaken in and around London with my specialist training in gastroenterology and hepatology including the Liver Unit at the Royal Free Hospital, the Middlesex University Hospital (Biliary Unit), the Royal London Hospital and two years in research at St Mark’s Hospital.
I was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at the Royal Surrey in 2006 and during my time at the Royal Surrey I have held a number of leadership roles including Clinical Director for Medicine, Clinical Director for Gastroenterology and Clinical Director for the Acute Medical Unit.
Currently I am the Operational Delivery Network Lead Clinician for both the Hepatitis C Specialist Network and the newly formed Cirrhosis Operational Delivery Network.
My clinical practice includes diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy and ERCP.
I am an accredited screening colonoscopist for the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Service.
