About me
Appointed Consultant General, Colorectal, & Laparoscopic Surgeon at the James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in January 2006. Colorectal cancer lead from 2006- 2018. Lead for surgery department 2016 to February 2024. Trust cancer lead from July 2021 to February 2024. Clinical lead for New Hospital Program (NHP) medical advisory Group from January to March 2023. Divisional medical director for division of surgery from March 2024 to April 2025.
Over 35 years of extensive surgical experience.
Qualified from Indira Gandhi Medical College Shimla, India (http://www.igmcshimla.org) in 1985 and then underwent higher surgical training from 1987 to 1993 at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Chandigarh, India (http://pgimer.nic.in) In 1994 completed FRCS in General Surgery.
Examiner for Intercollegiate Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) from 2010-2021. From 2021 Intercollegiate MRCS Assessor. PLAB examiner for the General Medical Council. Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of East Anglia, Norwich. Actively involved in teaching and training of junior and higher surgical trainees and medical students.
Previously E-Tutor for Colorectal Mastership programme from UEA.
