About me
Mr Daren Francis was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust in October 2005. He has a specialist interest in colorectal and laparoscopic GI surgery. His practice has expanded to include robotic surgery for rectal cancer and prolapse. His other clinical work centres on emergency and elective general surgery in addition to upper and lower GI endoscopy. He offers both laparoscopic and open inguinal / incisional hernia repairs as well as laparoscopic gall bladder surgery.
Daren is currently the lead for emergency surgical services and colorectal cancer services at his NHS Trust. He has a strong academic interest and has published extensively in peer reviewed journals in the fields of colorectal and general surgery. He is the postgraduate lead for surgery at Chase Farm Hospital and is actively involved in teaching and lecturing at all levels including MBBS, MRCS and Intercollegiate FRCS. He is an invited speaker for national and international courses and conferences. He runs regular training courses for surgeons of all levels
