About me
Mr. Khitish Mohanty is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Cardiff and Vale Health Board, specialising in hip, knee, pelvic and sacroiliac joint conditions. With over 20 years of experience, he is recognised for his proficiency in performing high-volume hip and knee replacements and managing complex injuries such as pelvic and hip socket fractures.
Educated and trained in both India and the UK, Mr. Mohanty completed his fellowship training at the University of Calgary, Canada, after being a senior trainee at the Robert Jones Hospital, Oswestry. He has been a substantive Consultant at Cardiff since 2004, where he works at the University Hospital of Wales and Llandough Hospital.
Mr. Mohanty's expertise covers pelvic and sacroiliac joint conditions, where he is regarded as a regional specialist. He has pioneered minimally invasive stabilisation techniques for the SI joint and has published numerous research papers in this field. Additionally, as a major trauma consultant, he performs various types of fracture fixation surgeries.
Actively involved in teaching and training, Mr. Mohanty serves as the training program director of the Welsh higher surgical program and holds an honorary lecturer title with Cardiff University. He is a member of several professional associations, including the British Orthopaedic Association, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and Orthopaedic Trauma Society.
