About me
I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in cornea, anterior segment, cataract and refractive surgery. My expertise lies in complex anterior segment surgery, including corneal disease, advanced cataract surgery and vision correction procedures. In addition to delivering high-quality clinical care, I have a strong interest in innovation, service development and surgical training. My combination of complex surgical experience, research involvement and national leadership roles within ophthalmology distinguishes my practice and reflects my commitment to delivering safe, modern and patient-centred eye care.
Over the course of my training and consultant practice, I have performed more than 1,500 cataract procedures. My practice is reflects a strong focus on safety and surgical precision. I have extensive experience managing both routine and complex cases, including dense cataracts, cases with previous eye surgery and combined anterior segment procedures. My surgical volume continues to grow within both NHS and private practice, and I regularly audit my outcomes to ensure high standards of care and continuous improvement.
Alongside my clinical practice, I hold several national roles within ophthalmology. I serve as a Council Member of the British Society for Refractive Surgery and sit on the Editorial Board of Eye journal. I am an Examiner and Surgical Skills Faculty member for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, contributing to the training and assessment of future eye surgeons. I have published over 30 peer-reviewed papers and presented widely at national and international conferences. I am passionate about teaching, mentoring and advancing innovation in eye surgery, and I remain actively involved in shaping the future of ophthalmic care in the UK and internationally.
Areas of interest
I specialise in corneal and anterior segment conditions, including keratoconus, corneal scarring, corneal infections, Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy and ocular surface disease.
I perform cataract surgery, including complex and high-risk cases, and offer premium intraocular lens options such as toric and multifocal lenses. My refractive practice includes laser vision correction, lens-based vision correction and implantable contact lenses. I also manage complications of previous eye surgery and undertake corneal transplantation and reconstructive anterior segment procedures. In addition, I treat dry eye disease, blepharitis and other ocular surface conditions, helping patients achieve clearer and more comfortable vision.
