About me

He is a Senior Consultant Breast Surgeon specialised for over 20-years in the the field of Breast, Reconstructive Breast Surgery, Cosmetic Breast Surgery, Breast Cancer Surgery and Diagnostic Breast Surgery.

His career began at the Leeds School of Medicine in 1992; he completed higher surgical training in General Surgery with a Special Interest in Breast Surgery in 2003. He was appointment as a Consultant Breast Oncoplastic & Reconstructive Breast Surgeon at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust in 2004, where he worked until 2024 as part of a multidisciplinary team of breast specialists.

He has a national reputation as a technically experienced breast oncoplastic, reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgeon.

His work is subjected to annual audit and whole practice appraisal; he was the first Specialist Breast Surgeon in the UK to obtain the Royal College of Surgeons Certification for Cosmetic Breast Surgery, back in 2018.

He has also worked as a senior course faculty member for the University of East Anglia Breast Oncoplastic Masters degree, a core committee member for the Aesthetic Breast Surgery group of the Association of Breast Surgery and served as a national trainer for Breast Oncoplastic Specialists. He has frequently lectured on Reconstructive and Aesthetic Breast Surgery and has had career involvement in numerous Breast Research Trials. He is recognised nationally and has experience with the provision of second opinions, and carrying out complex revisions for cosmetic breast and reconstructive breast surgery cases. He has acted as a medicolegal expert for both aesthetic breast and reconstructive breast surgery. He has served on the MHRA expert advisory group on breast implant lymphoma and is the first author on the published UK guidelines.

Personal interests

I am married with 4 wonderful children & I adore spending time with my family. I am an avid cyclist and train throughout the year, formerly competing in road races & time trials, but now for fitness and a work-life balance! I have cycled across the Pyrenees and from Lands End to JOGs (twice) for charity. I enjoy art, drawing, pastels and occasionally oil painting. I read widely -either cycling books or related to aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery!
