About me

Mr. Niv Bhamber is a highly skilled Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in the treatment of knee problems and injuries. His NHS practice is based at Milton Keynes University Hospital, where he provides care for both elective and trauma-related cases.

Mr. Bhamber's medical journey commenced at University College London, followed by foundational training in the Oxford deanery. He further honed his expertise through the Orthopaedic Core Training programme in Nottingham and the South West London Orthopaedic Training Programme, gaining invaluable experience at esteemed institutions such as St George's Hospital and SWELEOC in London.

Following the completion of his Orthopaedic training, Mr. Bhamber pursued advanced specialist training in knee and sports injuries, ensuring he could offer exceptional care tailored to his patients' needs.

His pursuit of excellence led him to prestigious fellowships, including the Royal College of Surgeons Sports Knee and Arthroplasty Fellowship, and the Royal Berkshire Specialist Knee Fellowship. Mr. Bhamber also completed the world-renowned Patellofemoral Fellowship in Bristol, treating complex cases of kneecap pain and knee dislocations with the highest standard of care.

These experiences have equipped him with advanced skills in limb alignment, ligament reconstruction, and the management of complex knee conditions.

In addition, he dedicated significant time to arthroplasty (joint replacement) surgery at leading specialist centres, focusing on complex revision knee replacements and unicompartmental knee replacement surgery. These centres include the Avon Orthopaedic Centre (Bristol), the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (Oxford), and the Knee Reconstruction Unit in Exeter.

Mr. Bhamber was later appointed as a Locum Consultant in Exeter, where he specialized in advanced knee replacement techniques, including robotic-assisted knee surgery.

Now as a substantive Knee Surgeon at Milton Keynes University Hospital he is the lead for the National joint registry, participates in the Patient safety incident response framework and is a supervisor for resident orthopaedic doctors.

With a wealth of experience and training, Mr. Bhamber is committed to providing individualized care for each of his patients. He places a strong emphasis on open communication and shared decision-making, ensuring that every treatment plan is tailored to meet the unique needs of his patients.
