Mr Misha Verkerk is a Consultant Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeon based in Surrey. He treats adult and paediatric patients with general ENT conditions and has a specialist interest in in disorders of the ear, hearing and balance.

Misha was educated at the Royal Grammar School in Guildford before completing medical training with a double first from Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge and distinction from University College London. Misha ranked first nationally in competitive selection for higher surgical ENT training, which he undertook in London including at St George's Hospital, the Evelina Children's Hospital and Guy's Hospital. In 2021 he was awarded the Gold Medal for the highest mark in the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons exam (FRCS ORL-HNS).

He is Fellowship trained in Otology, Hearing Implants and Skull Base surgery and developed an interest in endoscopic (minimally-invasive) ear surgery whilst working at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia. He has a substantive NHS appointment at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, where he is leading the establishment of a Hearing Implant Centre.

Since 2016, Misha has been the UK Director of Global ENT Outreach, a charity that aims to improve the lives of people with hearing loss and ear disease through surgical training and education in low- and middle-income countries including Ukraine and Ethiopia.

Misha is married with two children and enjoys cooking, theatre, yoga and hiking up mountains.
