About me
Mr Moez Zeiton is a dual-fellowship trained Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the treatment of disorders of the knee and hip. He graduated from the University of Leeds in 2009 and completed his higher orthopaedic specialist training on the North West (Manchester) rotation. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2020.
Following completion of training (CCT) he embarked on two sub-specialty Fellowships to further expand his expertise in the management of hip and knee arthritis (partial and full knee replacement), joint preserving solutions for early arthritis and sports injuries including meniscus and ligament injuries. He was selected onto the highly competitive Wrightington Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship Programme in 2021. Over 12 months, he received extensive training in the management of complex hip and knee disorders including primary and revision arthroplasty surgery. Following this, he completed his second fellowship at the renowned Exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit focusing solely on the management of complex knee disorders including sports injuries (ACL reconstruction and meniscal surgery), partial knee replacement, robotic knee surgery and management of early arthritis with joint preservation surgery.
Throughout his training, he has also sought further opportunities to widen his experience with international fellowships in world renowned centres. Mr Zeiton was awarded the competitive BOA Travelling Fellowship and completed 3 weeks at the world renowned Endo Klinik centre in Hamburg, Germany - a world leading centre in the management of complex revision arthroplasty surgery and prosthetic joint infection. He was also awarded the Charnley Latta fellowship and embarked on a 4 week travelling fellowship to visit world renowned experts in the United States learn and experience a different healthcare system with visitations to Hospital for Special Surgery (New York), Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston), Cleveland Clinic (Ohio) and the Mayo Clinic (Rochester).
These former experiences have allowed him to hone his practice, ensuring that it is evidence-based and patient-specific. Mr Zeiton believes it is important for patients to be fully informed about the options that are available for the management of their symptoms and to tailor their treatment accordingly. He places clear communication, empathy and collaborative decision making at the heart of every interaction.
Mr Zeiton believes in the principle of the surgeon-scientist and continues to be involved in clinical research in order to keep up to date with the most up to date evidence based treatments. He has been involved in 20 peer review publications including 3 publications in one of the world's leading scientific medical journals, The Lancet. He also presents his work nationally and internationally and has been an invited speaker at several conferences.
Mr Zeiton is also a faculty member on several courses for the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Wrightington Lower Limb Unit and humanitarian surgery courses. He has also regularly been invited as faculty for specialist courses aimed at trainees preparing for their intercollegiate exams.
Outside of his clinical work in the UK, Mr Zeiton is involved in voluntary work in the humanitarian sector, and throughout his career has been part of and lead missions to disaster zones providing medical training and performing life-saving surgery. He has worked with surgeons from many parts of the world and has been part of more than 10 missions to date. He is a faculty board member of the David Nott Foundation.
