About me

Dr George Coltart is a Consultant Dermatologist based primarily at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. He specialises in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer and adult medical dermatology, including eczema, psoriasis, acne, urticaria, autoimmune and autoinflammatory skin disorders. He is proficient in advanced surgical techniques for the treatment of skin cancers and benign lesions.

He attended the University of Oxford for the duration of his medical training, intercalating with a bachelor degree in Physiological Sciences. He was awarded an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship to undertake his dermatology training in Southampton. Dr Coltart is completing a PhD, funded through a prestigious Medical Research Council Clinical Research Training Fellowship, investigating the development of skin cancer and the immune responses found within the tumours. Through this he has developed an award-winning tumour culture system that can model tumour responses to different immunotherapy drugs. Dr Coltart has numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented his work widely at national and international conferences.
