About me

Dr Nadia Yousaf is a Consultant Medical Oncologist and has both a private and NHS practice at The Royal Marsden. She specialises exclusively in cancers of the chest, including lung cancer, mesothelioma and thymic malignancies.

She provides highly personalised care, helping patients navigate complex treatment decisions and tailoring treatment plans to their individual goals, priorities and circumstances.

Dr Yousaf has particular expertise in precision oncology and routinely uses genomic testing to identify molecular changes within a cancer that may be targeted with specific treatments. She welcomes patients seeking a second opinion on treatment options and access to clinical trials.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Yousaf is actively involved in research aimed at improving outcomes for patients with thoracic cancers. She contributes to the development and evaluation of new treatments and works to ensure that eligible patients have access to innovative therapies through clinical studies.

Dr Yousaf is Clinical Lead of the joint Royal Brompton and Royal Marsden Lung Cancer Service, which she established to bring specialists from both institutions together as a single multidisciplinary team centred around each patient. She also founded The Royal Marsden's Acute Oncology Service, which provides expert management of complications arising from cancer and its treatment.

A key part of Dr Yousaf's practice is supporting patients through treatment and managing side effects to maintain quality of life. She believes that understanding what matters most to each individual is essential to delivering the best possible care.

Dr Yousaf graduated from Newcastle University in 2002 and was appointed Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden in 2016. She holds an MD (Research) from the University of Leicester for research into the use of digital technologies to monitor patients, and an MBA from London Business School. She is Honorary Faculty at The Institute of Cancer Research, has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and has served as a clinical expert for NICE.

She is also Chief Clinical Information Officer at The Royal Marsden, leading the Trust's use of digital technology, data and innovation to improve patient care.
