About me
My name is Poonam, I am a fully qualified and BABCP-accredited CBT therapist working with BUPA from Surrey, CR8.
I have over 16 years of experience working in the NHS, independent sector, and private practice. I am committed to providing the highest standard of professional care and quality therapy services. I provide a safe, non-judgemental, and warm space for people to talk about their feelings, thoughts, and experiences.
I am passionate about supporting individuals in their journey to understand and reconnect with themselves and others; process difficult situations and develop strategies to improve their mental wellbeing and functioning.
Taking the first step to talk about difficulties that challenge or cause distress can be daunting at first. Therefore, at our first meeting you will be given the opportunity to talk, at your own pace, about the difficulties that you would like help with. We will work collaboratively throughout treatment and aim to meet your goals for therapy.
I abide by the policies and ethical standards laid down by the BABCP and I have full professional indemnity to work as a therapist in the UK. I am recognised and registered with insurance companies like Aviva, AXA Health, BUPA, Cigna Healthcare, VitalityHealth & WPA.
Areas of interest
I work with clients experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including generalised anxiety disorder, social phobia, depression, trauma and loss, low self-esteem, obsessive compulsive problems (OCD), health anxiety and work-related stress.
