About me

Sheng is a colorectal and general surgeon. He has specialist interests in advanced and complex colorectal cancer. He also has experience in treating a wide range of benign colorectal and general surgical conditions.

After graduating from the University of Cambridge in 2010, he completed surgical training in Northwest London. He underwent fellowships in the management of advanced colorectal cancer, and robotic surgery (The Royal Marsden Hospital) and peritoneal malignancies (Peritoneal Malignancy Institute, Basingstoke). He also worked in the National Bowel Hospital at St Mark's. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He has experience in pelvic exenteration surgery for the management of locally advanced and recurrent rectal cancers. He works with liver surgeons performing simultaneous bowel and liver resections treating patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. He also collaborates with other experts to provide joint surgical oncological care for patients with gynaecological and urological malignancies.

He completed a PhD degree from Imperial College London. His research interests include novel biomarkers in cancer, personalisation of cancer treatment, and the consequences of colorectal cancer treatment. He has authored numerous articles in international medical journals and chapters in medical textbooks.
