About me
Mr Walter Cazzaniga is a Consultant Urological Surgeon based in London, with specialist expertise in urologic oncology, particularly kidney cancer, testicular cancer, and retroperitoneal tumours. He provides both open surgery and minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic techniques, tailoring treatment to each patient's needs.
He trained in Urology at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy, before completing fellowship training at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London, one of the leading cancer centres in the world.
In addition to his cancer surgery practice, Mr Cazzaniga also manages a wide range of general urological conditions, including:
� Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH / enlarged prostate)
� Haematuria (blood in the urine)
� Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
� Scrotal and penile conditions
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Cazzaniga is actively involved in academic research. He completed a research fellowship at Uppsala University, Sweden, where he published several peer-reviewed articles. In 2021, he was awarded a European Association of Urology (EAU) Research Grant for his work on rare subtypes of testicular cancer. His current research focuses on quality of life in cancer survivors and advances in minimally invasive surgery.
Mr Cazzaniga contributes to international guideline development as an Associate Member of the EAU Testicular Cancer Guidelines Panel, helping shape standards of care used worldwide. He is also part of the EAU Young Academic Urologists (YAU) Testicular Cancer Group, a network of leading urologists under 40 engaged in collaborative research and innovation.
