About me

I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon and the Urological Cancer Lead at East Surrey Hospital. My sub-specialist interests include prostate and bladder cancer, kidney stones, male sexual health, and benign prostate enlargement. I also manage all aspects of general urology including scrotal swelling and pain, foreskin problems, Haematuria (blood in the urine), pelvic and bladder pain and urinary tract infection.

I qualified from the University of Manchester with an MBChB in 2011 and completed my specialist training in urology in Surrey and Sussex, including a kidney stone fellowship in Brighton. I also spent a year training in penile cancer and male sexual health (Andrology) in Leicester. I was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2020.

My vision is to use the latest modern technology available to develop and streamline the service to deliver high quality care to patients. I am currently working with the Surrey Cancer Alliance on a pilot to streamline the Cancer Pathway and Multi-disciplinary team structure using Artificial Intelligence tools. I have established a nurse-led prostate cancer diagnostics service at the Trust and have mentored other urology departments in the region to develop this service.

In addition to my clinical work, I have a passion for medical education. I was awarded the position of Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School in 2020 for my involvement in both undergraduate and postgraduate training. My academic role includes being a clinical tutor and developing the urology curriculum for years 2-5 medical students; and I am a Mentor for medical elective students and academic Foundation Trainees. I have published several papers in peer-reviewed journals.

I am an accredited examiner and regularly sit on interview panels for undergraduate entry at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. I run a national interview course endorsed by Health Education England for prospective urology trainees and am regularly invited as faculty on many accredited courses run by BAUS and the Royal College of Surgeons including the national FRCS viva course. I am also a trained Clinical and Educational supervisor for Foundation Doctors and Urology Specialist Trainees.

In 2023 I have received Certificates of Excellence from both iWantGreatCare and TopDoctors in recognition of the positive feedback he has received from patients.
