About me
Miss Asli Ucyigit works as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals Trust, having qualified as a doctor from Imperial College London in 2008. During her medical studies, she was awarded a national research prize by the charity 'CORE', for her original research project undertaken in Uganda. Miss Ucyigit completed her specialist training at St Thomas' Hospitals and King's College Hospital Trusts, and during her final year of studies was awarded the 'Pan-London Obstetrics & Gynaecology Prize' for best oral presentation for her research work into the management of hyperemesis gravidarum.
Miss Ucyigit specialises in the diagnosis and management of early pregnancy conditions including recurrent miscarriage and is the Clinical Lead for the Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology Units at St Helier Hospital. Miss Ucyigit is experienced in all areas of outpatient gynaecology, with a specific interest in pelvic pain (endometriosis and adenomyosis), ovarian cyst management, menstrual disorders, pelvic inflammatory disease, and minor gynaecological procedures. Miss Ucyigit's expertise is supported by a two-year competitive research fellowship undertaken at King's College Hospital where she focussed on early pregnancy and gynaecology ultrasound. Miss Ucyigit has authored several academic research articles and book chapters in these fields and has been invited to present her work on the postpartum ultrasound scan at international level.
Miss Ucyigit is also a BSSCP/RCOG (British Society of Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology/Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology) accredited colposcopist, and colposcopy trainer, performing outpatient diagnostic and treatment procedures.
