About me
Mr. Marios Konstantinos Tasoulis is a consultant breast surgeon based in London. His expertise lies in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery, with a particular focus on surgical de-escalation following neoadjuvant systemic therapy. Mr Tasoulis offers a wide range of procedures for the surgical management of breast cancer including breast conserving surgery with oncoplastic remodelling, nipple and skin sparing mastectomy and breast reconstruction. He also has a special interest in the management of breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL), an uncommon type of blood cancer that has been linked with some types of breast implants. Mr Tasoulis consults privately at Leaders in Breast Surgery at the Women's Health Centre part of HCA and at The Royal Marsden Private Care, while his NHS practice is based at The Royal Marsden Hospital.
Mr. Tasoulis completed his medical degree at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he also earned his PhD in 2012 and underwent his surgical training. He was awarded scholarships for both his undergraduate and postgraduate education. He received a prestigious fellowship from the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and served as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Breast Unit at Yale University before joining The Royal Marsden Hospital where his NHS Practice is based.
Mr Tasoulis is also committed in education and training. At The Royal Marsden, Mr. Tasoulis is the lead trainer for National Advanced Training in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Fellowship. He teaches on courses at The Royal College of Surgeons of England and is member of the Surgical Trainers Faculty at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Additionally, he serves as an examiner for the European Board Exam in Breast Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Certification Task Force and also the Surveys Committee. In 2023, Mr Tasoulis graduated from the prestigious American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Leadership Program - Education Scholars, for leaders in medical education and he is also regularly mentoring young oncology professionals via the ASCO mentoring program.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Tasoulis is actively involved in research. He has served as Chief Investigator and Local Principal Investigator on multiple international and national studies and has contributed to steering committees for international clinical trials. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is the associate editor for breast cancer at the European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO).
