About me
Mr Sonpreet Rai is a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon practising in Milton Keynes and London.
His main clinical areas of interest are renal cancer, bladder cancer and the diagnosis and management of prostate conditions. In addition to his sub-specialist practice, Mr Rai has expertise in managing general urological conditions including urinary tract infections, urinary tract stones, prostate diagnostics and Vasectomy.
Mr Rai qualified in Medicine and Surgery with honours from Barts and The London School of Medicine & Dentistry. He completed his Specialist Urological training in Yorkshire and was the recipient of the prestigious Gordon Bryden Medal for outstanding academic work.
Mr Rai completed a year of sub-specialist laparoscopic training in Renal Cancer whilst at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds. He went on to secure a coveted Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng) accredited Senior Clinical Fellowship in Robotic Surgery in both Bladder Cancer and Renal cancer at the internationally renowned Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
Mr Rai was appointed in 2021 to his current post as Consultant Urological Surgeon at Milton Keynes University Hospital and has successfully set up the Robotic Surgery programme in Urology.
He is the current Cancer Lead for Urology; Clinical Surgical Tutor for University of Oxford Students and an Education Supervisor for Foundation Doctor Trainees.
Mr Rai sees patients with a range of symptoms that include problems with passing urine [lower urinary tract symptoms], urinary tract infections (UTI), kidney stones, testicular lumps and testicular pain, blood in the urine (haematuria) or semen (haematospermia), incontinence and erectile dysfunction, Vasectomy.
Mr Rai is an advocate for Men's Health and will see Men who may have no symptoms but are concerned about prostate cancer and wishing to undergo a prostate health check.
