About me

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon based at New Hall Hospital and Salisbury Foundation Trust.
I have a special interest in shoulder and knee problems, but also deal with general bone and joint problems including those of the elbow and wrist.
The common shoulder problems I see include shoulder injuries, impingement syndrome and rotator cuff problems, frozen shoulder, arthritis of the shoulder, dislocations and fractures. Some of these can be treated by physiotherapy but some require arthroscopic surgery ( key-hole surgery ) or open surgery, both of which I perform routinely.
I perform shoulder resurfacing and shoulder replacements.
I also deal with knee problems such as arthritis and soft tissue injuries, cartilage problems and other ligament problems. I perform arthroscopic (key-hole) surgery as well as open surgery including total knee replacements.
