About me

I worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust from August 2001 until December 2016. My areas of interest are Foot & Ankle Surgery, Knee Surgery , General Lower Limb Surgery as well as Trauma and Sports Injuries. I was Clinical Lead for Trauma in Leeds from 2014-2016.

I now work privately at the Spire Hospital,Leeds and the Nuffield Hospital,Leeds.

I was appointed Professor of Sports Medicine at Leeds Beckett University in October 2017.

In my current position approximately 80%-90% of my practice is Foot & Ankle. I am the Orthopaedic Lead Designer of the Rebalance Total Ankle Replacement. I act as a reviewer to the Bone and Joint Journal (http://www.bjj.boneandjoint.org.uk/). I am on the Ankle Arthroscopy Faculty with Smith and Nephew(http://www.smith-nephew.com/)

I also have an interest in knee surgery and was awarded the Aesculap Travelling Fellowship to visit Dr DuPlessis in South Africa. Dr DuPlessis is an internationally renown knee surgeon and looks after the Springboks Rugby Team. I was awarded the BOTA Trainee of the Year Prize for research into pain relief following ACL reconstruction.
