About me
I am a colorectal surgeon with a specialist interest in anal neoplasia, also known as AIN.
I am a practitioner of High Resolution Anoscopy (HRA) which is the gold-standard method of detecting AIN and I use this in the clinic and in theatre to direct ablative therapy to treat the AIN.
My consultant practice was originally much broader, but since 2018 I have almost exclusively specialised in anal cancer prevention through the diagnosis and treatment of AIN.
I am the Vice-President of the International Anal Neoplasia Society and also Chair of the Women in Surgery Forum at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. I have a research interest in AIN and am conducting a number of studies and educational activities in this field.
