About me
Andrew Kent is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Minimal Access Surgeon based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford since 2001. He is Clinical Lead for Gynaecological Minimal Access Surgery and Abnormal Uterine Bleeding including Outpatient Hysteroscopy. He is Director of Gynaecological Surgery at the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit
His special skills and interests include advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, particularly with relation to endometriosis, fibroids and abnormal uterine bleeding. He is a Certified Colposcopist accredited by the BSCCP.
He runs the Guildford Endometriosis Centre in collaboration with Professor Timothy Rockall (Colorectal Surgeon). Guildford is a nationally and internationally recognised tertiary referral centre for the treatment of severe endometriosis including rectovaginal disease. It is one of the few centres worldwide with published data on the successful treatment of this complicated condition.
Research interests include the surgical management of endometriosis and fibroids, and the development of laparoscopic approaches to hysterectomy and pelvic floor prolapse.
