About me

Dr Jeremy Rees qualified in 1988 from University College and Middlesex Medical School with distinctions in Medicine, Surgery and Therapeutics. After postgraduate training, including a spell at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, New York, in 1999 he was appointed as Senior lecturer in Neuro-oncology and Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He also works at Royal Marsden Hospital, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and University College London Hospital. He specializes in the management of low-grade brain tumours and neurological complications of cancer.

He is the Clinical Lead for the Brain Tumour Unit at UCLH and the Brain cancer Pathway Director for London Cancer, a new Integrated Cancer System run by UCL Partners. He is an active member of the Imaging Subgroup of the NCRN Brain Tumour Clinical Studies Group. He previously chaired the DoH Brain Tumour working party for the Referral Guidelines Steering Group informing the Department on drawing up national guidelines for the referral of patients with suspected brain tumours. He sits as the Neuro-oncology advisor on the Driver's Medical Panel for the DVLA. He runs courses on neuro-oncology and is regarded as the 'go-to' opinion for neuro-oncological issues.
