About me
I am a senior Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist, and Clinical Lead for Electrophysiology and Catheter Ablation at the Yorkshire Heart Centre, Leeds General Infirmary. The Yorkshire Heart Centre is one of the UK's largest teaching hospital cardiac centres and among the country's highest-volume electrophysiology services, delivering advanced care for patients with complex heart rhythm disorders.
I graduated in Medicine from the University of Leeds in 2007 and completed specialist training in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology throughout the West Yorkshire region. Alongside my clinical training, I undertook research into cardiac rhythm disorders and was awarded a PhD from the University of Leeds in 2014.
My clinical practice is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias (heart rhythm disorders). I manage the full spectrum of heart rhythm conditions, including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), premature beats (ectopics), atrial flutter, and ventricular arrhythmias. I am committed to providing personalised, evidence-based care and working closely with patients to identify the most appropriate treatment strategy for their individual circumstances.
A particular area of expertise is catheter ablation, including the use of the latest advanced technologies for the treatment of both straightforward and highly complex arrhythmias. This includes pulsed field ablation for atrial fibrillation, complex ventricular tachycardia ablation incorporating both endocardial and epicardial techniques, and state-of-the-art three-dimensional mapping systems. I also have extensive experience in the implantation and management of cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers, cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) devices and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).
My goal is to deliver expert, compassionate care using the most advanced treatments available, helping patients achieve symptom relief, improved quality of life, and greater confidence in their heart health.
