About me
Mr Sheeraz qualified from National University Of Science & Technology in 2003 with a Gold & Silver medal. Since then he has pursued a career in Trauma and orthopaedic surgery; with a subspecialty interest in hip & knee Surgery. He also enjoys general trauma covering the whole body and happy to see Paediatric patients.
He underwent his foundation and core training in one of the most respected institutes in the country, working at Exeter, Newcastle upon Tyne and London. His higher specialist training in Orthopaedics was on the prestigious Imperial Rotation in London (North West Thames deanery). After completion of higher training he completed his Hip & Knee arthroplasty fellowship training at the internationally renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, West Hertfordshire NHS trust and Royal Berkshire NHS trust,
He is one of those unique Orthopaedic Surgeons who has trained under some of the biggest names in Orthopaedics in UK, which include Miss Sarah Muirhead-Allwood, Mr Graham Gie, Mr Andrew Timperley & Mr Craig Gerrand as an SHO, and under Mr Bob Marston, Mr Chin Gupte, Mr Angus Lewis, Mr Michael Pearse and Mr Will Bartlett as a Registrar, and under Mr Richard Carrington, Proff Skinner, Mr Tim Waters and Mr Tony Andrade as a fellow.
He was then appointed as a Locum Consultant at Barts Health NHS trust (based at Whipps Cross University Hospital), for over 20 months, after which he got his substantive appointment in Milton Keynes University Hospital at the end of 2019.
He is the audit lead in Milton Keynes, and has published widely in international journals on hip, knee and trauma topics, along with 2 book chapters in “ABC of Orthopaedics”. Also presenting at national and international meetings, winning multiple awards and prizes. He has a passion for teaching under and postgraduate students and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Education from University of Bedfordshire and has taught formally at Kings, Birmingham & Peninsula medical schools. He also organises and teaches on various courses around the country, and is an ATLS instructor, and has been nominated to become an AO instructor.
Apart from work, Mr Sheeraz is a very competitive sportsman, he has been Badminton and table tennis champion of his college and university, as well as holding colours in Cricket and basketball. In his free time apart from sports he enjoys cycling and travelling.
