About me
Professor Ali Al-Hussaini is a highly experienced Consultant ENT and Facial Plastic Surgeon, with 15 years of experience, and has performed over 12,000 surgical procedures. He is proficient in all aspects of adult and paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat surgery and cosmetic facial surgery, in addition to extensive expertise in non-surgical facial, body and skin aesthetics. He has specialist interests in Paediatric ENT, Facial Plastic Surgery, Snoring and Sleep Apnoea, Voice Disorders and Transnasal Oesophagoscopy. He is passionate about providing world-class evidence-based compassionate care to his patients.
Professor Al-Hussaini consults regarding and offers a variety of procedures, including Ear Pinning Cosmetic Surgery, Rhinoplasty, Septorhinoplasty, Complex Open Revision Septorhinoplasty, Tonsillectomy, Septoplasty, Snoring Surgery including Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UVPPP), Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Nasal Polypectomy, Adenoidectomy, Grommet Insertion, Ear Drum Repair, all Paediatric ENT procedures, Larynx Diagnostic Endoscopy and many more procedures.
Professor Al-Hussaini obtained his MBBS from Imperial College London in 2009 with Distinctions in Medical Science and Clinical Practice. He subsequently completed specialist surgical training around the UK. He is fully accredited by the General Medical Council and is on the Specialist Register. He is also on the Royal College of Surgeons National Register of Cosmetic Surgeons and is a nationally recognised Certified Cosmetic Consultant Surgeon specialising in cosmetic surgery of the face, nose, periorbital region, ears and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. He is one of the principal ENT Consultants for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
He has achieved several prestigious awards, including the Surgeon in Training Medal from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the coveted International ENT Masterclass Gold Medal. He also attained a Surgical Research Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2016, for his work on immune responses to head and neck cancer. In addition, Professor Al-Hussaini has been involved in pioneering research in the field and has published a staggering forty peer-reviewed articles and papers in Medical Journals. He has also delivered several international keynote lectures at the ENT World Congress, in addition to a plethora of national and international presentations. He is the co-author of a free ENT iBook for medical students that has been downloaded over 50,000 times over the last nine years. He is a reviewer for journals such as Clinical Otolaryngology and the Journal of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck, and is also the Section Editor for Current Otorhinolaryngology. He is the Health and Care Research Wales Joint Specialty Lead for Otolaryngology.
In recognition of the remarkable contribution to his field and medical education, he was awarded an Honorary Professorship in Medical Sciences from the International Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (QAHE).
