About me
Mr Thakrar is a double-fellowship trained specialist Consultant Knee and Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based across the Hertfordshire and London regions. His practise delivers a comprehensive adult and paediatric knee service, integrating clinical expertise and patient values with latest innovative evidence based technologies to deliver the highest quality of care to his patients.
He graduated from University College London Medical School in 2006 with a First Class Honours BSc in Physiology and Pharmacology and a Merit award in his MBBS degree. After completion of specialty training in the West Midlands in 2017, Mr Thakrar undertook subspecialty knee fellowship training at the prestigious Academic Lower limb Reconstruction Unit at University College London Hospital and the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health under the auspices of one of the highest volume arthroplasty and sports knee surgeons in the country. Following this, he went on to complete his second fellowship, focussing on periarticular knee osteotomy surgery and knee ligament reconstruction surgery at the internationally renowned Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital.
Mr Thakrar's NHS practise is based at The Lister Hospital where he treats all aspects of adult and paediatric knee pathology together with general trauma conditions.
