About me
Mr Ken Metcalf is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and the Royal College of Surgeons.He obtained his MD Research Doctorate with Imperial Cancer Research in relation to studies on ovarian cancer.
He has undertaken additional postgraduate fellowship programmes in gynaecological surgery in both England and Australia and is an RCOG registered and accredited specialist surgeon for the management of gynaecological cancer.
He undertakes assessment and surgery for all forms of gynaecological cancer and is a core member of the University Hospital Southampton MDT team where cases are submitted to multidisciplinary review weekly.
Mr Metcalf is a BSCCP accredited colposcopist and undertakes cervical screening and management of cervix problems. His two weekly clinics at Wessex Nuffield Hospital also allow for assessment and management of vulval skin problems.
He also consults on a wide variety of general gynaecology problems including abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, fibroids, ovarian cysts and menopause issues.
In his surgical practice he has wide experience with minimal access (keyhole / laparoscopic) surgery along with open approaches where indicated.
Mr Metcalf is a founding partner at Gynaechoice. This is a multidisciplinary gynaecology private practice based at Wessex Nuffield Hospital over the last 20y which provides a complete spectrum of specialist advice for all gynaecology issues.
