About me
Dr Kotecha did his early training in Cardiology in London, South Wales and Manchester, before moving to Southwest England for his specialist Cardiology clinical training. He successfully completed the prestigious Bournemouth Advanced Interventional Cardiology Fellowship programme. He was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton Somerset in 2017. He then moved back Devon where he has lived for past many years and was appointed as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in November 2018.
He has been successfully appointed as the NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) Cardiac research network lead Cardiologist for the Southwest Peninsula region in August 2019. He has done presentations at national and international meetings. He has published articles in Cardiology field in journals.
He sees patients with a broad range of all heart conditions including chest pain, breathlessness, palpitation & heart rhythm irregularity, heart valve murmurs and high blood pressure.
He undertakes a range of cardiac procedures including coronary angiography (cardiac catheterisation), coronary angioplasty with stent implantation, DC cardioversion for atrial fibrillation; He contributes to the 24/7 acute heart attack primary angioplasty service.
He has particular interest in intracoronary imaging modalities and complex coronary intervention including for opening up chronic total occlusions of the arteries.
He enjoys family life in Devon with his loving wife and two kids. He has keen interest in cricket and plays for one of the local teams.
