About me

I have been a Consultant Gynaecologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital since 2012. I trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the East of England Deanery, including 2 years of sub-specialty training in Gynaecological Oncology at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. I also completed a secondment at the Belfast City Hospital where I developed my expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery.

MY main areas of clinical expertise include: diagnosis and management of gynaecological cancers, colposcopy, management of irregular vaginal bleeding, postmenopausal vaginal bleeding, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and vulval conditions.

I am a highly skilled laparoscopic surgeon and, since joining the Norfolk and Norwich team, have significantly advanced the array of surgical options available to patients. I have also special training in extensive surgery for patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer and, in recognition of this expertise, I have been invited to teach colleagues at both national and international workshops.

Alongside my clinical work I am keen to advance my practice through research. I have published several papers in international gynaecological journals and presented my work at national and international conferences. My main areas of research interest include: development of pathways for the management of women with postmenopausal bleeding, ovarian cancer surgery and postmenopausal hormone therapy. I am also a reviewer for various medical journals.

Personal interests

My interests outside medicine include wind surfing, skiing, playing basketball and chess. I also enjoy cooking.
