About me

Dr Shane Zaidi is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in the treatment of sarcoma and skin cancers. He has both a private and NHS practice at The Royal Marsden.

He qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1998 and trained in oncology at  The Royal Marsden and in North East Thames. Between 2007-2010 Dr Zaidi was a Clinical Research Fellow for Cancer Research UK and completed his PhD in combining new anti-cancer agents with radiation at the Institute of Cancer Research.

After finishing specialist oncological training in 2012, he completed a  20-month post-doctoral fellowship in molecular medicine at The Mayo Clinic, Minnesota, combining radiation with new immunotherapy agents. He returned to the UK in January 2015 and became a  Consultant Clinical Oncologist in the Sarcoma Unit, and was subsequently appointed at The Royal Marsden and St George's in 2017.

Dr Zaidi is actively involved in clinical research with a particular interest in integrating novel biological therapies (including immunotherapy) into radiotherapy treatment for sarcomas.
