About me
Rabin P Singh, MBChB(Hons), BDS, MFDSRCS, FHEA, FRCS(OMFS), is a dual qualified Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial / Head & Neck Surgeon, based at the University Hospital Southampton, United Kingdom.
Rabin studied dentistry at The University of Adelaide, Australia, and medicine at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, which was followed by his early postgraduate training in General surgery, ENT, Urology and Orthopaedics in London and Leeds. He then undertook five years of Specialist Higher Surgical Training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery within the Yorkshire Deanery. After successfully completing the exit examination, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) in 2013.
Following his specialist training, Rabin undertook a further year of Training Interface Groups (TIG) Fellowship at Guy's Hospital, London with training in Head and Neck cancer management in three specialties including Maxillofacial Surgery, Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery. This was followed by the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS) Presidential Fellowship in Robotic Head & Neck Surgery at the Hanyang University Medical Centre in Seoul, South Korea. He also undertook a BAOMS supported travel fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at the Legacy Emanuel Health Centre in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Rabin has interest in all aspects of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, in particular Head & Neck cancer and micro-vascular reconstructive surgery, treatment of skin cancer, salivary gland disease and robotic surgery.
He has keen interest in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, and is a member of the Education faculty at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Following successful completion of the Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education at the University of Leeds, he is a current Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
He is currently appointed Deputy Editor at the British Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He also leads the Head and Neck cancer MDT team at the University Hospital Southampton.
