About me

Dr Arj Imbuldeniya is a London-based Consultant Knee and Hip Surgeon and founder of Ortholongevity a pioneering approach combining orthopaedics with longevity medicine. This means he successfully helps 90% of patients avoid surgery through advanced diagnostics, regenerative therapies, personalised programmes to optimise nutrition and strength designed to preserve joint health and function for decades.
With over 25 years' experience and more than a decade as a Consultant at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, Dr Imbuldeniya's practice focuses on preventing surgery rather than simply performing it.

Patients commonly see Dr Imbuldeniya for:

persistent knee pain, swelling, stiffness, grinding,clicking/locking, instability, giving way or loss of confidence

meniscal tears, cartilage injury and early arthritis

ACL injuries (including complex revision cases)

hip and groing pain and stiffness including hip arthritis, impingement and bursitis / lateral hip pain

His priority is clarity: an accurate diagnosis, a simple explanation, and a stepwise plan you can understand.

Non-surgical and injection treatments

High resolution ultrasound-guided injections

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) programmes
Hyaluronic acid injections
Arthrosamid hydrogel for suitable arthritis cases

These are used as part of a structured pathway alongside strength & conditioning, movement retraining and lifestyle factors that influence pain, recovery and joint health.

When surgery is the right option, Dr Imbuldeniya offers the latest knee and hip techniques including:

advanced meniscal repair and complex arthroscopic knee surgery

cartilage repair and transplant procedures

ACL repair and reconstruction including higher-risk revision surgery

Robotic assisted partial and total knee replacement

Muscle-sparing anterior based Rottinger hip replacement

Minimally invasive posterior hip replaement

Experience and training
He read medicine at St Bartholomew's Medical School, London.
The majority of his post graduate training was at major London teaching Hospitals including The Royal London Hospital, Great Ormond St, Kings College Hospital, Imperial College NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster. He added Global Specialist Fellowship training in Sydney and Barcelona, along with periods in Munich to perfect techniques and practices from leaders in knee and hip surgery.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeon of England, and holds a Masters in global Health Policy from Imperial College London.

Approach

I make sure you are treated as an individual as your situation and needs and personal circumstances are all unique, if I can keep you away from surgery I will, all the advice I give is what I would give myself and those close to me".

Outside work, he stays active with running, football and strength training to keep up with his 4 young children, dog and 2 cats.

More importantly as a born and bred West Londoner he is a season ticket holder for Brentford FC
