About me

Professor Rajak is an ophthalmic and eyelid plastic surgeon who practises at Nuffield Health Brighton and Haywards Heath Hospitals. He is also an NHS consultant at the Sussex Eye Hospital and Brighton and Sussex University Hospital and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.

Prof Rajak performs around 400 eyelid plastic surgery procedures per year, including upper and lower lid blepharoplasty, tumour excision surgery, eyelid malposition (drooping, in-turning, and out-turning eyelid), tear duct surgery, orbital (eye socket) surgery, and around 200 cataract surgeries He is internationally renowned for his surgical training website. He also consults in general ophthalmology, including glaucoma and emergency eye conditions.

Prof Rajak qualified from Nottingham University in 2000. He trained in ophthalmology in the South East, including at Moorfields Eye Hospital, St Thomas' Hospital, and The Sussex Eye Hospital. He then completed advanced fellowships in oculoplastic (eyelid), orbital (eye socket) and lacrimal (tear drainage) surgery at The Sussex Eye Hospital and a world-renowned fellowship at Adelaide University Hospital.

Prof Rajak researched the management of trachoma in Ethiopia for three years and was awarded his PhD for this work. He continues to research, write about and present at national and international conferences on oculoplastic surgery.

Prof Rajak consults in general ophthalmology, glaucoma and emergency eye care and has a sub-speciality interest in oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal surgery, including blepharoplasty, eyelid tumour surgery, thyroid eye disease management and endoscopic lacrimal surgery.
