About me

Mr Sathiyathasan, also known as Mr Sathiya, is an experienced Gynaecologist . After completing his undergraduate training in Sri Lanka, he moved to UK in 2003 and completed his specialty training in London Deanery. During this period he worked in tertiary hospitals Kings College hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital among others.

He has completed training in laparoscopy surgery, early pregnancy management including ultra sound scan, and he is trained in management of pelvic floor prolapse and incontinence and also an BSCCP accredited colposcopist.

He is currently working as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, Kent (Kings College Hospital NHS Trust).He is also a deputy lead consultant for gynaecology oncology and lead in Guideline development in Princess Royal University Hospital.

He has published widely in Obstetrics and Gynaecology peer review journals. His special skills include operative laparoscopic surgery including treatment for endometriosis, ovarian cyst. He also specialises in diagnosis and management of gynaecological cancers.

Mr Sathiya’s practice is evidence based advanced care in the management of Early pregnancy, acute gynaecology complications, transvaginal ultrasound scanning for gynaecology and early pregnancy, operative laparoscopic surgery, Pelvic floor repair, vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy, management of ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, fibroid removal, chronic pelvic pain and hysteroscopic surgeries including hysteroscopic removal of fibroids.
