About me
Mr Sathiyathasan also known as Mr Sathiya is an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist.
After completing his undergraduate medical training in Sri Lanka, he moved to the UK in 2003, where he completed his specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. During his training, he worked in tertiary hospitals, including Guy's and St thomas' hospital and Kings College Hospital
He has undertaken advanced training in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and early pregnancy care, including transvaginal ultrasound scanning. He is also trained in the management of pelvic floor prolapse and urinary incontinence and is a BSCCP-accredited colposcopist.
Mr Sathiya is currently working as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Princess Royal University Hospital ( Kings College hospital NHS Trust]. He is the lead consultant for the gynaecological oncology service at the Princess Royal University hospital.
He has published in peer-reviewed journals in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. His special expertise includes advanced operative laparoscopic surgery, particularly for the treatment of endometriosis and ovarian cysts. He also specialises in the diagnosis and management of gynaecological cancers.
