About me
Dr Virginia Hill is a Consultant Dermatologist and was Lead for Paediatric Dermatology for the Royal Free London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She studied medicine at Guys Hospital in London and trained as a General Practitioner, gaining a number of qualifications during her time in Practice. She completed her dermatology training in London and Surrey, then spent a year as post-CCST Specialist Registrar in Paediatric Dermatology at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She was subsequently appointed as a Consultant in Paediatric Dermatology at Birmingham Childrens Hospital in 2003. She was appointed to her present post in 2007 and was Clinical Lead for Dermatology for two years.
Dr Hill has built up the NHS Paediatric Dermatology services over a wide area of North London and Hertfordshire. She is one of the few dermatologists to gain an MSc in Allergy from Imperial College, London, which she completed in 2012. This included a thesis on Childhood Atopic Eczema. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and has over 50 publications. She regularly teaches visiting doctors, medical students, GPs, hospital doctors and nurses in clinics, and supervises dermatology trainees.
Dr Hill sees both adults and children and has a particular expertise in the management of atopic eczema. She treats all general dermatology problems and performs minor surgical procedures and cryotherapy.
