Mr MacLeod studied at St Mary's Hospital Medical School at Imperial College graduating in 2000. He completed his basic surgical training on the Kingston Hospital rotation. His Orthopaedic surgical training was in the Southwest Thames Region with a one year Upper Limb Surgery Fellowship under Professor Mark Ross at the world-renowned Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Brisbane Hand & Upper Limb Research Institute, as well as 6 months at the prestigious Wrightington Upper Limb Unit.
He was awarded the Watanabe Travelling fellowship in 2011.
He went on to work as a Locum Consultant at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in 2011 until he was appointed into a Substantive Consultant in 2012.
Mr MacLeod has a special interest in shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist surgery including the latest in arthroscopic and open surgical techniques, and is a faculty member of the Watanabe society which specialises in teaching advanced keyhole techniques as well as Faculty teaching shoulder replacements techniques to Consultant colleagues. He has presented his research both nationally and internationally with a number of awards for best presentation and this research has been published in peer-review journals.
Mr MacLeod specialises in:-
Arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs, subacromial decompression, Acromioclavicular joint surgery and Frozen shoulder surgery, arthroscopic shoulder stabilisation and shoulder arthroplasty.
Elbow arthroscopic procedures, stabilisation and arthroplasty.
Wrist arthroscopic and open procedures for instability and arthritis.
Hand surgery for Dupuytrens, thumb and finger arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger & thumb and trauma.
He has an interest in sports injuries of the shoulder and elbow as well as upper limb trauma having played professional rugby prior to his career in medicine.
