About me
Dr Johnson is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Cleveland Clinic London and University College London Hospitals and is an Associate Professor at UCL Medical School.
Dr Johnson sees patients with a variety of gastrointestinal, liver, bile duct and pancreatic problems, and has particular expertise in endoscopy (including interventional endoscopy including ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound, EUS) and pancreaticobiliary medicine.
Dr Johnson has a special interest in Medical Education and directs Undergraduate Education at UCL Hospitals. He works with JAG in assessing and certifying UK trainees to practice endoscopic procedures independently. Dr Johnson is currently leading on ERCP and EUS training standards for the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
Dr Johnson graduated from the University of Newcastle with Merit in 1998 and went on to complete postgraduate training in General Medicine and Gastroenterology in the North East, Sydney and London. Dr Johnson’s academic interest is in Medical Education. He has set up a number of Postgraduate Gastroenterology courses at UCLH. Dr Johnson has published numerous papers and book chapters. A good weekend would combine sport, good food and time with the family.
