About me
Dr Hussain graduated from the University of Leicester Medical School and undertook his postgraduate medical training at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham. He then specialised in dermatology in Europe’s largest dermatology centre in Manchester where he developed his interest in skin cancer and dermatological surgery.
As a Consultant Dermatologist, Dr Hussain is recognized as an expert in all conditions relating to the skin (rashes, eczema, acne, psoriasis, warts etc). He has a specific interest in skin cancer, skin surgery, skin checks and mole assessments and is the only dermatological surgeon in Yorkshire to be accredited by the prestigious American College of Mohs Surgery, having undertaken a two-year fellowship at the Skin Cancer Institute, New Zealand.
Dr Hussain’s main interests are in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. He specialises in Mohs surgery – a specialised technique using a microscope at the time of surgery to ensure all the roots of a skin cancer are removed. Mohs surgery offers the highest cure rate following facial skin cancer removal and subsequently allows a cosmetically pleasing repair to be performed (as the hole to remove the cancer is kept as small as possible).
