About me

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising exclusively in the treatment of patients with problems of the shoulder and elbow. This includes the whole spectrum of modern minimally invasive, keyhole and arthroscopic techniques, shoulder and elbow replacements, joint resurfacing procedures, revision surgery and complex reconstruction.

I was a scholarship pupil at St Paul's School in London, studied medicine at Cambridge University (Queens' College) and completed my clinical training at Imperial School of Medicine, qualifying as a doctor in 1998. My specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery was on the highly regarded North-West Thames rotation in London, followed by extensive training in shoulder and elbow surgery and reconstruction, which included a fellowship in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. I was also selected for a prestigious year-long advanced training fellowship working with one of the world's leading surgeons, Professor Pascal Boileau, in Nice, France.

I was subsequently appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust where I now work based at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Welwyn Garden City. My private practice is based at One Hatfield Hospital and Pinehill Hospital, Hitchin.

I live in Hertfordshire with my wife and 3 children, I enjoy swimming, golf and skiing - my rugby and rowing days are well behind me!
