About me
Mr Fakouri graduated from the medical school of the University of DĂĽsseldorf/Germany in 1996 and qualified as a Neurosurgeon from the Jung-Stilling-Krankenhaus, a teaching hospital of the University of Bonn/Germany, in 2003.
From 2003 to his appointment as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 2009, he worked as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon in Cologne Germany, and as a visiting spinal surgeon in the Middle East, attended a few major spinal fellowships, e.g. spinal fellowship at the Centre for Spinal Surgery and Study in Nottingham in 2008 and a spinal fellowship at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in 2009.
Mr Fakouri is a highly skilled spinal neurosurgeon and one the few spinal surgeons who completed dual spinal fellowship in neurosurgical and orthopaedic spinal surgery. He performs all kinds of spinal procedures such as spinal injections, minimally invasive discectomy in lumbar and cervical spine, cervical disc replacement, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, XLIF, OLIF, PLIF, TLIF and ALIF procedures in the lumbar spine.
Mr Fakouri has been actively involved in training spinal surgeons and has also been interested in research. He has published in peer-reviewed neurosurgical and spinal journals.
Mr Fakouri discusses virtually all his surgical and challenging cases in a multidisciplinary team (MDT) consisting of several other Consultant Spine Surgeons, Consultant Radiologist, Consultant Rheumatologist, Consultant Neurologist and Consultant Sport Physician and modifies his treatment plan accordingly.
